Important Guarantee: All document scanning, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), image cropping, filter enhancements, PDF editing, annotations, signatures, and barcode scanning are performed locally on your device.
We do not collect, view, transmit, upload, or store your scanned images, extracted OCR text, signature files, or generated PDF documents on our servers. Your documents remain strictly under your personal control on your local device storage (or your chosen personal cloud storage, such as Google Drive, if explicitly connected by you).
To provide full document scanning functionality, Scanly may request access to certain features and hardware on your device:
android.permission.CAMERA): Required to scan documents, capture receipts, books, ID cards, and scan QR/barcodes in real time. We do not use the camera in the background or transmit live streams.READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Required to import existing photos from your gallery for scanning/editing and to save generated PDFs or image files onto your device storage.BILLING): Used to facilitate premium features, ad-free access, and subscription purchases securely processed via the Google Play Billing system. We do not receive or store your credit card or financial credentials.The app utilizes trusted third-party service providers that may collect information used to identify your device, serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements, and monitor app stability.

Whenever you use our Service, in the event of an error or crash in the app, we collect diagnostic data and telemetry through third-party services (such as Firebase Crashlytics) called Log Data. This may include information such as your device model, operating system version, app version, configuration at the time of error, and timestamps. This information is solely used to fix bugs and improve performance.
Scanly itself does not use cookies. However, third-party libraries and advertising networks embedded within the app (e.g., Google AdMob) may use cookies, advertising identifiers (AAID), or similar tracking technologies to serve relevant ads and improve their services.
You can manage or reset your advertising ID through your Android device settings (Settings > Google > Ads).
We value your trust in using Scanly. We implement industry-standard practices, including support for app-level passcode locks, to protect your app access. Our Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
